Canning 101 Class

In this 3-hour class, you will learn all the basic information about the different types of canning and how to do it safely.

There will be in-depth conversations on what to and what not to can and why.

 

The class will do a simple fruit jam recipe at the end of class, and participants can take a jar home with them.

  • Learn what canning is and why it is safe

  • Types of canning: Water bath vs pressure

  • Canning equipment

  • What can be canned and what can’t be canned

  • Make a simple fruit jam

 

The 2020 “Ball Blue Book Guide to Preserving” may be purchased for $13 at the time of the class.

 

The minimum number of students required is 2 for the class to be held.
